Jet-setting through the Lion City? Here’s a guide to the best of Singapore, for that one day on your business trip when you want to experience the best the place has to offer!
Temple and relics of Buddha statue
You can give your morning the soothing touch of spirituality by visiting the Buddha Stand Relic. Located in Chinatown, the temple houses a 320 kg gold stupa, which is believed by Buddhist leaders to be the sacred Buddha tooth relic.
If you fancy a walk, you can take a stroll to the Orchard Road about 3 km away, crossing the Singapore River on the way. You could also take a taxi, they are quite cheap in Singapore!
Singapore’s retail and entertainment hub, Orchard Road is a beautiful 2 km boulevard, often decorated in seasonal decor. It’s a good idea to have your brunch snack here and you can also pick up the handbag or travel basket that home has asked you to get!
The next stop is a complete must for your camera and a Facebook check-in! Time to make your way to the Merlion, a 1 mile walk or a 20 minute taxi ride away!
Movies, postcards, keychains, t-shirts – nothing Singapore-related comes without the Merlion! It’s time to witness the lion’s head and fish body fountain spewing water into the Singapore River. Grab an icy smoothie or cup of coffee, then sit back and watch the world go by when you’re here!
Lace up your laces, up coming is Marina Bay, located about a mile from the Merlion!
Just when your tummy starts telling you it’s time for lunch, you’ll find yourself in the Marina Bay. With restaurants aplenty, this is a place where you’ll be spoiled for choice! When you’re done with lunch, walk around to burn off those calories, take in the beautiful views, try your luck at the Casino, or book yourself a Ferrari and some stairs!
Next is the Artscience Museum, a boon for lovers of all things creative!
A famous destination for its interactive exhibits that bring together the best of art and science, the museum is the world’s first to showcase both fields simultaneously. There are separate sections for permanent and touring exhibits, and the tours highlight both very well.
The lotus-shaped building is definitely worth a few frames on your camera! When you’ve had your fill, get to the most touristy thing, take a sunset ride on the Singapore Flyer! Taking a taxi is recommended!
Enjoy breathtaking, 360-degree views of the Lion City as you ride the Singapore Flyer around sunset. The sky changes color, and the flashing lights you’ve seen on Singapore’s postcards just come to life as you ride the world’s largest Ferris wheel!
During the 30 minute ride, every turn will move you, literally and figuratively! From the flyer you can walk to the next attraction.
Gardens by the Bay
Spread over a gigantic 101-hectare site, the existence of this park is simply miraculous. Consisting of three parks, these gardens are a delight for anyone who enjoys nature or science, and are nothing short of a fantasy world! The highlight of this park are the Super Trees, check them out when you pass by!
After spending your time connecting with Mother Nature, head to Clarke Quay to experience Singapore’s best nighttime offerings!
Live performances, riverside bars, street shopping, culinary delights, nightclubs – you name it, and Clarke Quay has it! A party haven, this place will be the highlight of your nightlife for the longest time! For a round of shopping, you can go to Bugis Street, Lucky Plaza and Mustafa Center.
Party the night away, or enjoy some quiet time in one of the excellent restaurants, reflecting on the fun time you spent in town!
