Connectivity: Nearest Airport: Srinagar (51 km / 2 hours). Taxi to Gulmarg costs INR 1,500. Nearest railway line: Jammu (344 km / 8 hours). Shared Sumo costs INR 450-500 per head at Gulmarg.

Munnar is located in a valley enclosed by hills. Many of the attractions can be found on the outskirts, within a 30 km radius of the city. When to go : It’s a year-round destination and the rain adds a new charm to the landscape.

Connectivity: Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport and Ernakulam is the nearest railhead. There are regular flights from Cochin to Delhi, book a ticket well in advance for a hassle-free travel experience. Munnar bus station is served by a large number of KSRTC and private buses from Kerala and Tamil Nadu, connecting it to Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kochi, Madurai, Coimbatore and more.

Apart from the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, you can visit the serene Bineshwar Temple, the 16th century Shiva shrine from which Binsar gets its name. There are also many hiking trails and the standard excursion at Binsar is the 1km gentle climb to Jhandi Dhar, Binsar’s main hill. The machan at this spot offers a 360° view of the shrine and of the snow banks. The views of the eternally snow-capped Greater Himalayan mountain range are a major draw at Binsar.
