Slightly more expensive, the Hollywood Hotel is another good family choice. When you are visiting Universal Studios, it has easy access via a light rail from a station across the street. Rooms are comfortable and the included breakfast is excellent. There are also suites, a pool and a fitness center. The staff here are very friendly.

The Hollywood Roosevelt is a nice romantic choice in the luxury bracket. It has a fantastic location right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and across the street from the Chinese Theater, and the historic building, which dates back to 1927, has an old Hollywood ambiance about it. The rooms are hip and have comfortable beds with high-quality bedding. The pool has a nice atmosphere and there is a fire pit for cozy snuggling. There are also two restaurants and a games room including bowling.
