It’s located on the east coast of Maui – so the sunrises are fantastic – and with the exception of the family suites, the rooms have no TVs, radios or clocks, although there is WiFi. Choose from junior suites, the aforementioned family suites, or ocean view cottages, some with private hot tubs. The all-inclusive plan offers meals and spa treatments, and on-site amenities to distract you include a lava rock jacuzzi, ukulele and lei-making lessons, among other activities.

13 Aston Mahana in Kaanapali
The 215 individually owned condos at Aston Mahana are another option in Kaanapali, especially if other places are booked. Located on Honokowai Point, the family-friendly property offers apartments of various sizes, from studios to two-bedrooms. All rooms have full kitchens and ocean views, and some have floor-to-ceiling windows, but the quality of each apartment’s furnishings varies as they each have different owners. There is also no restaurant on site. That said, there is direct beach access, a small pool, hot tub and BBQ grills.

Napili Kai Beach Resort is located on the tranquil Napili Bay, known for its excellent snorkeling. The Aston at The Whaler is a relaxing beachfront property in Kaanapali, located in two towers next to Whalers Village Shopping Center and across from Kaanapali Golf Course. Away from the rooms, amenities include a swimming pool overlooking the sea, a gym, a sauna and tennis courts.
