Where is Santa Claus? How will he deliver all the presents to the children in one night? Is it possible to follow his journey? And spot him and the reindeer? These are the questions that torment adults and children right now we are approaching the most magical day of the year.

We cannot answer all the questions precisely, although we can tell you that thanks to the channel Santa Television you can follow his activities live and peek at what’s happening inside his home and post office.

What we can tell you with certainty, however, is what will be the first stage of his magical journey. This was announced by Irish Prime Minister Varadkar in Dáil Éireann who informed Santa Claus that he will be able to have free access to national airspace to deliver his gifts on the Emerald Isle.

Santa’s first stop

The mystery of all mysteries has been revealed: Santa Claus exists and lives in Rovaniemi. Even though, according to many, he had many different residences. The historical one, however, is hidden in the Finnish mountains, but no one has found it yet.

It matters little though. Even if there is a lot of curiosity, in fact, we can sleep peacefully: Santa Claus, like every year, he will fulfill his mission by bringing gifts to all childrenprovided that these were good of course.

As we anticipated, we learned about the first stage of his enchanted tour which will see the Emerald Isle as the protagonist. This was confirmed by Prime Minister Varadkar in Dáil Éireann who officially announced a few days ago that the country’s airspace will be completely at the disposal of Santa Claus and his sleigh pulled by reindeer.

The communication which joyfully surprised those present took place a few days ago during the Leader’s Questions where the Premier declared: “I would like to confirm that Santa Claus has permission to enter Irish airspace and cross our borders from 24 December to December 25th.”

Santa Claus is coming to Ireland: here’s when

“I would like to thank the IAA [Irish Aviation Authority]the Department of Agriculture and the Revenue Commissioners for allowing the necessary attention to take place,” said the Premier, explaining that the arrival of Santa Claus requires special measures, also given the presence of reindeer. Apparently they are the ones who allow this magical feat to be accomplished: the animals would travel at a speed of around 650 miles per second, almost 3,000 times more than a commercial jet.

The Irish Aviation Authority echoed the news by providing a few more details through its official social media profiles: “Flight operations at Dublin Airport will cease on Christmas Eve after the last flight arrives at around 11pm , ensuring that the airspace is completely clear for the arrival of Santa’s sleigh after midnight.”

If you live in Ireland, or if you are in the Emerald Isle to spend the Christmas holidays, you can rest assured: your gifts will arrive at their destination!
